About Us- Our Story

Hi guys 👋, it’s Kiara. If we haven’t met yet either IRL or through text/email, I am the founder of Barkful. Barkful is an Atlanta-born healthy, clean dog food brand. We are on a mission to re-invent the pet food industry by creating healthy superfood recipes for our pups, while avoiding all the yucky stuff found in the most common kibble diets (preservatives, fillers, and additives). 

I started Barkful because of my little dog, Stella, who used to refuse to eat. I researched hard to find a solution, and I couldn’t find anything that met our needs. I knew I wasn’t alone with this problem. So, after a few years of researching with our team of veterinarian nutritionists, we crafted our recipes to be healthy, nutritional, and go way beyond to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials).
